Return to Serapong & Tanjong Rimau

Good morning Blog,

Recently, I saw an urbex post a few pics about her visit to Serapong, and it was a completely different location. In fact, Serapong has a lot of hidden locations which I have yet to cover. Next time, I will try to find them and put them on the map.

Today was blessed with good weather, so I arranged a visit to Serapong to find the hidden gems and meet up with Mr. Loh's group to visit Tanjong Rimau because today is also the lowest day of the month. I just hope it won't rain..
It was difficult to find a weekend to have the lowest tide during the day and fell on a weekend. Usually, the lowest tide will happen during the night, so my chance will be halved. If I want a weekend, that will be a 2/7 chance. To access there during the lowest tide, that will only happen during lunar days (2/30 days). Lastly, only under the conditions that I am available. So it is rare.

Hope Mr Sun and Miss Sky will take care of me.
Some renovation was going on with the Circle Line to Harbourfront, so I ended up taking a bus elsewhere to reach here.
It looked like a good day today!
Getting ready for a good exploration!
I noticed that the pavement to Sentosa is used more regularly than before. I wondered if it is due to the opening and fee required for the train service to Sentosa.
Personally, I would prefer to skip the fee and walk in so that I will only need to squeeze with the crowds if I need to go somewhere further like Beach station. Maybe I should go to Sentosa during weekdays for sun tanning. I did that once (hmm, weird that I can't find that post) but perhaps I can try again.
Sunny day, I hope I won't get sunburned like that.
Shortly, I had arrived near Serapong.
Hmm, the gantry was lifted. Was a vehicle moving along the trail?
I was happy to visit this quiet place again and wondered will I find something new here.
To my surprise...I found the first undiscovered spot from my previous visit.
I wondered why will I miss this one last time???
The structure is still strong.
Hmm... what was this place for...
Looking around... it doesn't look like a room to stay in for the long term.
An opening...
Looked like... I DON'T KNOW!!!!!!
It was so empty... but by collected as much information around here... It could be a guardhouse.
Serapong Spur Battery
I wondered what it looked like from now and then...
If the ladder was stable, I would definitely explore this place.
I decided not to explore further and hoped this place would not injure anyone.
Hmm... Looking back at my older post 2021 when no chain and no new painting here and my 2022 post.
Same place but difference.
OOO! I spotted something behind!
A structure behind the storage but I couldn't get up there and it was too slippery.
I went from another side haha I am quite resourceful I must say.
It looks like a firing defence ground (don't know it's name)
A simple structure
But effective!
Definitely not for tall demigods but more for average soldiers' height to kneel down to fire.
The ceiling was tilted to optimize the protection of the soldiers and maintain its offensive mode.
I arrived at the canteen section. I really missed the time when the plants can grow longer... Don't know who trimmed it...
It will be a beautiful sight if it grew and filled up like a curtain.
Anyway, based on one of the urbex experts, told me that right behind this structure, there is another structure.
Last time, it was closed and I could enter to explore. Looked like a kitchen area.
I like how rusty the bricked wall looks like, feeling like a dungeon.
It looked like could access the back from here or another entrance.
First time exploring the back of the canteen, the vines give me a lot of imagination.
Hmm... something was here... I looked up...
THERE WAS A BUILDING BEHIND THE CANTEEN!
I was so excited! I found it!!!!!!
It seemed like it was connected; without the wild-growing plants, it might be a clear sight of how this place connected to one another.
Can you imagine how Mother Nature has reclaimed this place, forgotten by time and human activity? It's a testament to the resilience and enduring power of the natural world.
Oh, dear... My camera battery was low, and the timing to meet the next group was coming... I needed to speed up. The first session looked like a toilet.
Yup, it's a toilet; it looked kind of modern though, which meant our modern toilet layout has not changed much since the 1930s-40s.
It seemed like this Banyan plant took over the toilet and broke through the roof!
Sadly, it doesn't have loose vines for imagination.
The next section was definitely not served as a room...
More like a store with a guard guarding it.
Don't know why... I felt it was too dangerous to stay here for more than a few minutes... There was a noose creeping down.
Looked like an office
I wondered is there light here in the past.
#rd section was a bigger room, filled with viney plants.
4th section was smaller than 3rd, the same and viney as the 3rd section which I didn't want to enter as I didn't have enough time and was low in battery,
I was to go over another side of the building structure... I guessed I would come back again.
Looking back, I felt so happy for today's discovery and the camera's battery tried to make itself last longer :D
Toilet again. How many toilets are there?
Goodbye Serapong, thanks for bringing me around.
Had a few last shots and my camera went to rest mode, and for me, it was time...
...to use my phone and meet up...
(Credit P) ...Mr Loh's group! When we reached a trail, it was blocked due to the Harry Pottery Event so... we went to a backup route.
(Credit Mr Loh) Time to bring them to explore Tanjong Rimau!
(Credit Mr Loh) Low tide as predicted, but I am still wondering how they get the measurement of the tide? Maybe based on possibility and many many measurement calculations.
(Credit C) What a beautiful picture taken by them. I didn't snap many because I thought of cutting down content for today's blog post but these pictures are perfect.
(Credit Mr Loh) After crossing this log, will come to the slippery potion, and hope they will be alright.
(Credit auntie) We reached Tanjong Rimau safely!
I tried to look around and find maybe we could exit from another side, so I suggested to Mr Loh and the group to try... We might not be allowed to cross over the hotel premises but we will see.
(Credit auntie) Along the shore, some of the beautiful rock structures. For me, I didn't have time to snap because I was drained and didn't have the mood to pose, especially with no camera battery.
I found this log and it was perfect! I was going to keep it because it reminded me of a story that Buddha once used as a metaphor, "Blind Turtle & Floating Log" Buddha said, " Suppose there is a blind turtle who lives at the bottom of the vast ocean. This turtle has a long life. It comes up to the surface of the sea only once in 100 years." "Then suppose, there happens to be a log floating in the huge ocean. This log has a hole in the centre. The size of the hole is as small as the head of the turtle." Buddha asked, "Do you think this blind turtle can get to the hole of the floating log in the vast ocean?" That is impossible! That is what I think and Buddha said, "To be born as a human being is actually much more difficult than the possibility of the blind turtle going inside the hole of the floating log. Life is such a precious."
(credit Mr Loh) Ah! That's the spot where I was looking for in the past! Finally found it! The natural mini alley!
(credit Mr Loh) What a discovery today! From afternoon and now.
How I wished I can clean this place but I should keep it as it is. I will come back for a photo session.
Haha. Funny name/graffiti work for this place - 斷魂崖 Sorrow Cliff is a beautiful spot!
(Credit Mr Loh) What an amazing shore which tells a long history of the past.
It seemed like we can access the West side of Sentosa shore from here in future :)
What a great discovery today at Fort Serapong and a new way to access the rare spot. Thank you Mr Sun and MIss Sky for such good weather.

Jeff
